The Celtics Cannot Surprise Me Anymore

April 5, 2010
It's always a good sign when Ray makes this face. It's his, well, "ohh face."

My first thought: Lebron James sacrifices a win for his team by trying to prove his mettle against some strong-willed vets.
It’s worth comparing Ray Allen’s day vs. LBJ’s:

Yikes, LBJ. If this were a test, you'd be held back in grade -3.

Some initial thoughts after today’s game against the Cavs:

  • Our ball movement in the first half was the most unselfish, crisp, and quick that I have seen since the new year.
  • It was great to see Ray Ray explode and come alive in the first half, and to come through with some clutch buckets in the second half.
  • I loved seeing Tony Allen play up against LBJ, despite the unbelievable size difference– and yes, you can give me a hard time about his “goal tending” on Parker’s three, but in slow-mo, I am still convinced the ball was not on the rise above the cylinder… that sucker was coming off the rim.
  • I still don’t know what to make of Doc’s comment about the rotation today being similar to what he expects for the playoffs: no Quisy and no Nate-Rob?
  • I was so pumped when Doc benched Sheed after running his mouth. About 5 months too late, but nonetheless, I was glad to see it happen.
  • The 4th quarter was difficult to watch, but I am still happy with the win because LBJ and his boys didn’t get what they wanted. Even though Varejao will be there for the playoffs, it was still great to get a W today against a red-hot Cavs team.
  • With the difficult stretch of games against serious playoff teams, we enter into the twilight of our schedule with games against teams like the Knicks, Raps, Wiz, Bulls, and a couple against the Bucks.
  • At this point, this team cannot surprise me anymore.

C’s Kicksies • The Next Episode

Did you notice that the sub-title for this version of C’s Kicksies is for none other than Dr. Dre himself, who was at today’s game? Word.
Today’s winner? I think it’s Pierce (all white Nike Air Legacy) and unfortunately, LBJ’s “green” version of his Nike Air Max Lebron VII’s.
Enjoy.

Ray always impressing folks with his Jordan PEs: this time, he went back to his green Icons. Yes. They're freakin' awesome.

Watch out for the people walking behind you: flat tires are terrible.
