Awkward turtle.
June 22, 2009
First, watch this video of Trevor Ariza, Pau Gasol, Fisher, and Kobe on Jimmy Kimmel last week.
- The entire interview is awkward: from the questions to the responses
- The players just did not click with Jimmy’s style of bad jokes and they didn’t know what to say back
- Fisher is the only one that sounds halfway intelligent/normal
Now watch this video of Ray Allen and KG on Letterman last year after the Celts won the title.
Who would you rather hang out with?
Eggs-ACT-ly. Gotta love KG..man I can’t wait to see him back on the floor…And I know this is going to seem REALLY weak, but how ironic at 0:08 Kimmel says “music tonight from Boulder, Colorado…”.
The best part on the Letterman segment from last year is when Ray asked KG, “How you feelin’ champ?” And KG responded, “I feel good. How you feelin’ champ?” Ray said back, “I’m doin’ good.”
They just seemed genuinely happy and giddy about winning THE FREAKIN’ title. They’re also just eloquent and well-spoken. Kobe makes bad jokes (the whole bit about announcers calling Pau “Paul”, which is probably NOT true) and just seemed like he didn’t know how to act. The whole Kimmel interview was just so uncomfortable.
And yes, Boulder, Colorado. Love the article on Via Leather Red’s posted about Kobe being Kobe.
Actually the announcers do call Pau “Paul”. And the Celtics interview was way more awkward.
1) Which announcers??
2) Part of the problem is Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel isn’t funny, and please don’t argue against that.
3) Fisher is the only one of them that can speak fairly eloquently and smoothly. The other guys just come off as incredibly awkward. No one really laughs, or really cares about what they are saying.
4) Ray and KG are funny and honest.
This is strictly an observation.
